Grand Canal

This project shows the characteristics of Hangzhou and the elements of Chinese landscape culture. The use of whitewashed bricks and bluestone alleys combines traditional Chinese cultural elements with modern technology to create an interactive interior and exterior landscape. It is dominated by gold, and the decorative elements and paintings of the landscape are expressions of traditional oriental design.

83 Bands

This case aims to create a landmark of nightlife that meets the needs of elite social tastes and emotions. Since its target group is young people at present, the storefront signboard that inspires association can win the favor of customers more than the one that directly discloses product information. The original structure is re-interpreted with coherent design techniques, which can get rid of the traditional bar depression and extend a regular shape to build the relationship between space.

Verdurous Home

The residential interior design is specifically for the family of five members. At the beginning stage of the design, the designer considering the relationship and inheritance of the family and business constructed the layouts in the flat scale and the vertical walls in the public area, both of which create the bonding interactions of spaces. This relationship as intimate as the family members symbolizes the prospect of the business.

Sunac Shanxiao

The target clients for the project are social elites with higher education background. Therefore, it needs to convey impressive personality characteristics and cultural symbols in the space. On the basis of creating aesthetic space, the designer moderately introduced the design idea of deconstruction, used geometric forms and linear elements extensively in the space, and endowed the space with unique sense of fashion and literary temperament through the collision of Chinese and Western cultures.

GRND Coffee

In order to separate the cafe from the old building weak wall structure, designers created a separate steel structure that works as an envelope finished with oak wood in a herringbone pattern with brass dividers, echoed by brass spacers in the polished terrazzo floor. To maximize the 30 square meter space, rather than tables and chairs, they provided a row of upholstered benches along one wall accompanied by small, lightweight tables that can be easily moved to suit patrons’ needs.

Wild Rhythm

Designers made full use of the complex spatial foundation, and created a variety of spatial forms in a relatively limited space through the setting of stairs, thus creating conditions for the later construction of atmosphere. In order to increase the use of area, most of the budget have be used in the construction of the building and the reconstruction of the door. The cement texture coating will wrap the whole space, contrasting against the space forming by brick-red texture coating. The wood floors are all coming from the reprocessing of dismantle house woods, reducing the cost of purchase.
