Swiss architecture office Evolution Design in partnership with Russian architecture studio T+T architects has designed a spacious multifunctional atrium at the new corporate headquarters of Sberbank in Moscow. The daylight flooded atrium houses diverse coworking spaces and a coffee bar, with the suspended diamond shaped meeting room being the focal point of the internal courtyard. The mirror reflections, glazed internal façade and the use of plants add the sense of spaciousness and continuity.
The project attempts to fuse notable elements from Chinese traditions with modern beauty-appreciation and lifestyle, in a relatively eclectic way. Combining three or more functional sections into a space becomes a kind of trends in China and many other countries, due to customer experience and management operation. The club, swimming pool and restaurant were given three different elements to stand out from each other.
The original building had limited space and heavily relied on artificial lights, which was against common expectations of kindergartens. The design has kept the entire structure and created an atrium. Taking advantage of the original structure, the atrium transforms the liner into a woodland. Columns and beams immediately become trees and bridges. Continuous stairs and slides spiral up around the columns, connecting and activating spaces.
The project is located in the well-known tea producing area in Yunnan, China, with a pretty landscape and a pleasant climate. It is a design case for the sales hall of a large real estate project. The sales hall has an area of 2,700 square meters and a height of 10 meters. The building is in a curled tea-leaf-shape and has a glass exterior wall. The interior space continues the architectural appearance artistic conception with a tea-leaf-shaped installation as the visual focus and functional layout orientation.
The inspiring principles of the project consist in transforming the prospective clients’ approach towards their tire-dealers and directly involving them in the choice/purchase process. We tried to add new tools which can provide new experiences. Feeling through feelings. Perceiving through the 5 senses. Visual Merchandising. Communication. Products. Environment. Finding a new way of communication, more effective than the simple gadgets which invade the tyres sector, but leaving, however, its technical characteristics and charm unchanged.
