Hangzhou Eastern Garden

Hangzhou Eastern Garden is a private residence interior in Hangzhou, China, designed for a family of music enthusiasts. A music room on the upper floor sets the theme of the whole home. Acoustic panels with geometric forms provide sound control and a decorative surface. The sofa was moved from the music room to the hallway to protect the acoustic quality. The original shear wall and stairs separated the dining room from the living room. The stairs were relocated and the wall was rebuilt as a six meter wall of white stone. Yappy Bookstore

Yappy Bookstore is a multifunctional bookstore interior in Taipei, Taiwan, covering 450 square meters. The space is used for reading, film screenings, lectures and music performances. The large beams and columns of the old building are treated as camera frames that guide views across the rooms. Vintage books, bricks, iron, old window frames and concrete are combined, so old and new surfaces meet without a clear boundary. A red book wall leads visitors through the interior. Small openings in the walls bring daylight inside, and a high stage blurs the border between performers and audience.

Taipei Eros

The hair salons is based on the geometry of black, white, and grey colors. The gestures of hair-cutting are translated into the massing of the sculptural entities. The triangular motif shapes the functional cubes and planes from ceiling to floors through the actions of piling, cutting, and sewing. The light bars embedded in the dividing lines contributes to numerous lighting belts, serving as supplemental lighting while solving the condition of the lowered ceiling. They extend and meander with the reflection of the large mirror, shuttling freely between the planes and the three-dimensionality.
